Children constantly impress me with their unique way of thinking and being.

Children constantly impress me with their unique way of thinking and being, and all of their love and innocence gives me so much happiness in my life.

I was born to Japanese parents but grew up outside of Japan: I’ve lived in Malaysia, Vietnam, and San Francisco. I taught at a bilingual school as a bilingual staff member for two years prior to coming to Summerhill. I’m currently an assistant teacher at Summerhill and this is my second year. I have experienced working with a range of ages at Summerhill, including the Sunshine, Sunset, and Half Moon classes.

I think that being internationally minded means being open-minded about people’s differences in people but have your own identity as you know where you stand. Children constantly impress me with their unique way of thinking and being, and all of their love and innocence gives me so much happiness in my life. That’s what keeps me going! My mom and my husband are my biggest inspirations. They are both strong, humble, and caring people who push me to be a better person every day.
